After graduation she moved to Clearwater, FL and taught 5th grade for 3 years then became a school counselor at the middle school level for 33 years in Pinellas County.
After graduation she attended South Carolina State University in Orangeburg, SC and received a degree in Elementary Education and master\'s degree in Counseling Education.
She was educated in the public school system of Calhoun County.
