Anoka Minnesota Police Dog King was the first police dog to be use effectively in the Minneapolis/St.
Paul Metropolitan Area in the 1960\'s.
In 2018 he was inducted as an honoree in the National Law Enforcement Museum in Washington DC..
Upon his death the City of Anoka Named a park after him(King Memorial Park), and a lifesize was placed there in his honor.
He received numerous awards for his criminal apprehensions, and a local newspaper reporter referred to him as the Rin Tin Tin of the Anoka Police Department.
His success led to the development of police dog units in a five state area surrounding Minnesota.
