After being raped in the military, I was diagnosed with PTSD.
I have a voice.
He has a name.
With this series I contribute my voice in speaking out against the epidemic of mistreatment of women and offer my support for those suffering in silence.
Through the project I attempt to find self-healing by "confronting" my attacker and the legacy of trauma this incident has effected on my life. "Dear John Doe" is an autobiographical fine art series using self-portraiture and environmental imagery.
