Being a philanthropist at heart, Dr.
Truelove has served on various district and school-level curriculum design and alignment committees that enhanced the special education program.
Additionally, Dr.
Her dissertation entitled An Evaluation of Family Involvement in a Title I Urban Middle School, allowed her to research the psychological dynamics of parental involvement.
Truelove has extensive research experience and application of best practices in community- based and educational programs.

Truelove has been honored as Teacher of the Year for Birmingham City Schools (2010) for her work in Special Education, nominated for a Disney Teacher of the Year award and served as an Adjunct Professor at Concordia University College of Education (2014).
