The popularity of a song often depended on its beat and was it good for dancing. The Twist was a huge hit as it introduced a dance that was easy to perform. Then along came the poets and philosophers whose lyrics had more to consider than was it easy to dance to and made us think about the meaning of life and where did we find answers and satisfaction. Now as we reflect back on those lyrics as 70 year-old they may have an entirely different meaning to us . Each devotional is based on a popular song of our era. It will also include interesting information and background to the artist who wrote or performed this song. I suggest you listen to these songs to re-familiarize yourself with the lyrics. Our first song and devotional is from the Impressions and their 1965 hit, People Get Ready- There\'s a Train a Coming. I think you might hear it with an entirely different mindset.
