A lawyer\'s body is found on the beach in a small Cornish village, staked out with a tarred bag over its head, just as the summer season begins.
Welcome to Treloar\'s homelands..
This far west the land feels more ancient, less cultivated; the peninsula is narrow, almost an island and the weather can be unpredictable, changing quickly.
And the north, a land of high windswept moorland, exposed, exhilarating endless horizons, gnarled fingers of land poking out into the sea
Cape Cornwall, Gurnard\'s Head, Zennor Head.
A sheltered, confined, shaded and enclosed land.
The south coast, a land of wooded valleys, fingers of water probing inland from the sea; the rivers Looe, Fowey, Helford and the Fal, daddy of them all.
Places at the edge, islands and peninsulas or coastal mountain terrains, have a distinct and different atmosphere; light reflecting off the open sea, the seemingly boundless expanse of water, the anticipation and exhilaration of ports and harbours.
SETTING: Cross the Tamar at Plymouth heading west into Cornwall and you enter a different world; a land of steep wooded valleys, their depths shrouded in mist, the road sweeping and swooping through the countryside.
Perfect for fans of Joy Ellis, David Blake, Cara Hunter, Nick Louth, Robert Bryndza, Angela Marsons or Peter Robinson.
Looking forward to the next mystery featuring these Cornwall police. a great series - Australian Kindle customer, on Amazon Australia re Silent Gull Another great read, I didn\'t want to put this book down. ..........
The storylines are good and I am eagerly awaiting the next one.
The main characters are fully fleshed out and I found them easy to like. 3 in series I have read all of this series so far and found each enjoyable.
LOVE THIS SERIES - klevergirl, USA, after reading Silent Gull, no.
Good beach/holiday book.
Found it difficult to put down once I\'d got into it.
Racy in places but that only added to the interest! A recommended read! Four Stars - J M Tennick, UK Really good read.
But deception is rife, will they uncover the truth? WHAT READERS ARE SAYING ABOUT Rogue FLAMINGO AND THE DI TRELOAR SERIES Great Storyline and a very enjoyable read - Nick, UK Took me a few pages to get into it but after that it was a \'can\'t put it down\' experience.
Focus switches and a long-held grievance based on a heartfelt, perceived injustice surfaces.
What is happening? Rogue serial killer or psychologically self-justifying vigilante? Deranged visitor or embittered local? Why? Who next? And who is the strong-minded female, locked away as a child in the south of France, who reflects on her past as the story unfolds? Then a brutal attack on one of their own shocks Treloar\'s team.
But when more bodies are found, in flagrante, Treloar is at first unsure - accident or murder? There seems no connection between the victims whose murders are increasingly violent and sexual.
DI Treloar and partner Sergeant Samantha Scott are to most colleagues the top team in the county.
Detective Inspector Treloar, a rebel to some, but a dauntless investigator to many officers including the Chief Constable, takes charge.
When a second body is found bizarrely fixed to the floor of a nearby building soon afterwards, the laconic police surgeon remarks \'Well, psychopaths need holidays too\'.
