Zakroff, Casey: - Casey Zakroff is a marine ecophysiologist (he studies how animals\' bodies function and interact with their environment), researching how stress impacts marine invertebrates (especially squid and other cephalopods!).
He has a PhD in Biological Oceanography from MIT and Woods Hole Oceanographic Institution (WHOI), which he was working on when he wrote Science Comics: Whales, his first graphic novel..
Growing up on the coasts of Florida and Maine, he pursued a passion for the ocean, going tidepooling and whale watching, and eventually scuba Diving in reefs across the world.
He is also an avid Science communicator, and, now, comics author.
