She lives in Lexington, Kentucky.
She is also a marathoner and ran this year\'s New York City Marathon on November 1.
Katherine is the mother of two daughters and the grandmother of Charlotte, Lincoln, James Cullen, Henry, and Meredith.
Recently, she visited the World War II Museum in New Orleans and the Mighty Eighth Museum in Savannah, and topped the trip off with a flight aboard Texas Raiders, a World War II B-17.
Katherine\'s research has taken her out of the country to England and Scotland and this year to the beaches of Normandy and Paris.
With the assistance of a great team of editors, the book was released in 2012.
Shortly after finishing the book, her husband died suddenly and the story went into a drawer for many years.
Combining those influences, and drawing upon her early experiences working in the medical field, the plot line for THE RUBY BROOCH was born.
But most of all, influenced by James Michener and having a passion for history, she wanted to write historical novels.
Being a fan of PERRY MASON, she also wanted to write mysteries.
Being a childhood fan of THE Time MACHINE and A CONNECTICUT YANKEE IN KING ARTHUR\'S COURT, Katherine wanted to write Time Travel stories.
Several years ago, Katherine decided to pursue a lifelong dream of becoming an author.
After attending the Philadelphia Institute for Paralegal Training, she returned to Central Kentucky and worked as a real estate and tax paralegal.
