The Myth of the Absentee Father portrays the author\'s experiences with what he feels was an unfair family court system for non-custodial fathers.
However, at forty-one years old, he can finally and wholeheartedly say that isn\'t the case..
He thought that this was the family Americans strived for - a well-rounded family.
His father was the bread winner and his mother was a traditional housewife.
He also has a younger sister.
He was the fourth child with two older sisters and one older brother.
Wise was raised in a two parent household in Tuskegee, Alabama, with four siblings.
He hopes readers support and understand his view that this system needs an overhaul, and subsequently begin a conversation about how things should change.
