Since 1958, Le Guin has lived in Portland, Oregon, with her husband Charles Le Guin, whom she married in Paris in 1953.
She studied at Radcliffe College and Columbia University.
Born in 1929 in Berkeley, California, Ursula Le Guin is the daughter of the writer Theodora Kroeber and anthropologist Alfred Kroeber.
