About the author Haukur Halld rsson and his daughter Gunnhildur Hauksd ttir are Icelandic artists living and working between Iceland, Denmark and Germany. Halld rsson is one of the original members active in reviving the traditional Nordic mythology of Iceland in the seventies and has devoted his art to Nordic and Northern European mythologies and folklore. For the Yggdrasil deck, father and daughter come/came together with illustrations and their readings to enable the deciphering of the message of the mythologies and folklore and to make it accessible for readers.
