When writing a story for a child, I want their heart to light up and shine.
There is nothing like a child\'s face when engrossed and absorbed in a story.
I love to see their eyes light up when they see the illustrations and use them to help figure out the story.
I love seeing children\'s faces light up when a story reaches their hearts, or hear them giggle when it reaches their funny bone.
When I\'d sit down to read to my students, I\'d tell them, "I\'m going to read you one of my favorite books." and I meant it because if it wasn\'t a good, quality book, I wasn\'t going to share it with them.
Some were exceptional and others, not so much.
I taught school for 33 years and read many children\'s books through those years.
Writing quality stories has been my desire since a young age.
Reading books has been my passion since I was a child.
