The book begins with a murder.
The story is narrated to a group of friends in a pub lock in in South London in modern day..
Currently the mere idea that a person has been involved, in anyway, with some sexual impropriety, is enough to wreck their life completely.
The book describes the new freedoms that women have acquired over the last half century and how some have taken the \'Me Too\' movement and turned it into a weapon to harm innocent men.
So who really killed who is up to the reader to decide.
Ultimately there are several deaths and although one character remains physically alive at the end of the story the life they had lived is no longer available to them, in effect that life is dead.
However, not the very end, for I do not want people leaping to the last page to find out! So the answer to the question happens before the epilogue.
The reader will not know the answer until the end of the book.
Throughout the book there are several characters who could be candidates for the murderer and the murdered.
The reader does not know not if the murderer is male or female nor do they know who has been murdered.
